KENYA UNION OF POST PRIMARY EDUCATION TEACHERS (KUPPET)
PRESS RELEASE – 25th JULY 2012
Having explored all avenues of engagement and noting with regret that neither the Employer nor the Minister for Education has found it necessary to engage the Union, the National Executive Board meeting of 24/7/2012 and in consultation with the National Governing Council minutes of 26/6/2012 has fixed the dates of Industrial Action in the month of September.
Subsequently;
-
All County Branch Secretaries are informed to convene meetings with their school representative by August 20, 2012.
-
All Principals of schools, colleges and Technical institutes are informed that on 5th September, 2012 no teacher/instructor/lecturer will report for duty because the nationwide strike begins on that date.
-
The Government/Employer/Ministry of Education has up to 31st August 2012 to engage us on the issues of salary and allowance we have proposed.
-
Meanwhile all teachers in Post Primary Institutions to prepare for this epic industrial action.

National Executive Board(NEB) has directed that all branches hold their Branch Governing Assembly(BGA) meetings by 30th September, 2012.
Branches that will not have done so by that date, may not be allowed to attend the Annual Delegates' Conference (ADC)of 2012 |

.: Annual Delegates Conference
KUPPET's Annual Delegates' Conference will be held in Mombasa on 20th December
2011 at Sheik Saheed Memorial Hall as from 10.00a.m.
Each County Branch is expected to send ten delegates to the conference,
all of whom must be bonafide registered officials of the Branch.
Delegates attending the conference will be given accreditation cards at the
entrance.

The National Governing Council (NGC) of KUPPET has officially called off the nation wide teachers' strike that had paralyzed learning in Post Primary Institutions. Members of KUPPET are asked to resume duties with effect from Tuesday the 13th of September, 2011 |
